"Die Hel" (The Hell).
« on: June 07, 2021, 06:00:42 am »

We managed together away for the first time a few years for a few days.

I have wanted to see this place for a long time and this is the road leading into the valley via a fairly serious 4x4-type pass.

"The Gamkaskloof, also known as Die Hel, is a narrow, isolated valley about 20 kilometres long and a maximum of 600 metres wide. The valley is located in the Swartberg mountain range, which is part of the Garden Route District Municipality, Western Cape Province, South Africa."

Unfortunately it has recently lived up to its name: a massive fire in November 2019 and a flood last month!

Spectacular and expansive vista, well worth the bumpy trail.
Well done.
