Reworking some older images using DxO PureRAW and recent editions of LR/PS.
This was captured in 2014 with Dx7100, my first workshop. I like the blue-orange dynamism.

I too love those complimentary colors. Nit pick: On my monitor, the color seems a bit over-saturated.

It's not your monitor, Bob I did push the blues in LR, +15 vib/+5 sat, but then I liked that. I also brought exposure in the top 1/4 the sky down a tad to even out the sky luminosity. Only minimally touched in PS. Of course, it's only quasi journalistic 
Debating whether to open up the foreground by +0.2 exp and reducing contrast by -50 in the print. I think I like the higher saturation in bright daylight. Of course, you can't see that here.

Very spectacular and the oranges/blues are gorgeous. But there's more… the layering of the ridges and the fog really give a great depth for this vista.
I don't remember having seen the "original" shot but with such a scene, it's possible to have many interpretations.

Larry I looked at a 1x2 AR with sky about 1/4 of what it is in the OP; it didn't ring my chimes; and I remember the sky, dust and smoke adding to the color and so I broke the rule of thirds to keep the horizon in the middle, hopefully reflecting our tension at waiting for the sunrise. I will have to see if there is a different frame in which I could emphasize the landscape layering some more.

This one is.. fine, but the first one has impact and a great interpretative/artistic quality to it.

Thanks Eric and James. Ironically, the first is more "true to life" than the second in which I shifted the colors in the land and sky. As Francois commented, "many interpretations..."
