Media Control Settings for Epson Velvet Fine Art in Epson3880

I need help with the proper settings using LR and an Epson 3880 using a Mac computer. Under Printer Settings I have chosen Velvet Fine Art. I choose Matte as the Media type and choose VFA as the Profile in the LR Print Module. I tried making a print with the default Paper Thickness of 1 and the Platen Gap as Auto and got streaks and ink splatters, so I changed the Paper Thickness to 4 and left the Platen Gap at auto. Again, ink splatters. Before wasting more paper, could you suggest the proper settings for Paper Thickness and Platen Gap? Epson Velvet Fine Art is a matte paper that is 19 ml thick.

Also, could you explain the Paper thickness choice? To the right of the numerical choice is written (0.1mm). What does this mean in relation to the numerical choices for paper thickness. Thanks!!

ml is a measure of liquids. From google 19 mil or 0.48mm is the thickness, so way more than 0.1mm.
I haven't used a 3880 for a while but you would need to use the rear manual feed and wide platter gap from memory.
Check the Paper Handling in the User Guide.
i find not extending the output tray all the way stops a lot of ink marks also.

Thanks for the reply. Indeed I mistakenly wrote 19 ml instead of 19 mm. There is no information in the user guide that answers my questions. Nothing about what paper thicknesses require which Platen Gap setting or Paper Thickness Setting.
