"Black door" is an example of a photograph that I expect looks better as a photograph than it does in real life, because the isolation works in the photo's favor (that is, the context and a different kind of light would break up the unified look.)

Hmm.  According to the caption it was taken with the M8.  Shouldn't the door be magenta?

Nope.

It wasn't double knit polyester....
