Saharan dust events contribute to the aerosol load over Switzerland, mostly during spring and autumn.

Light is amazing in your shots. Where I live, the sky was dingy yellow. Usually, when the sky is looking like that, hail is near!

You're right. We'd had that as well,
But on this day and with this light the effect was minimal. From where I stand (some 700m) one could see into the Schwarzwald in Germany and it looked like a cloud of smog over the land

Yes, indeed, it looks like smog… If I walk up just a bit, I'm sure that I would see the same kind of smog layer ;-(
