Little Hokkaido

As you've probably seen in the news, we got a little bit of weather here in Texas recently.  We live just outside the city of Austin, on some property that locals would say embodies the native trees and wildflowers of the Texas "Hill Country."  (Those of you not steeped in the local vernacular would say it embodies scrub brush and weeds   )

With roughly 6-8 inches of snow on the ground, our "wildflowers," pared down to twigs in the winter, poked up through the snow and reminded me of the lone treescapes some photographers have captured in Hokkaido, Japan.

Beautiful. A lone ballerina and a Corps de Ballet. I had to look it up, so don't ask. Does the main subject look soft because it was snowing?

Thanks .  No, I used just a touch of negative clarity to soften some of the harshness in the snow.  Maybe a little too much - I'll run a few prints and check it out - appreciate the feedback.

James, I am happy you could enjoy some snow and ice and share your visual arts with us.  I adore your images of wildflowers and twigs in winter wonderland Texas.  I am located in Japan, and this is the first year I can recall not leading a landscape, wildlife expedition in Hokkaido. And I to enjoy photographing frozen wildflower, twigs, and sometimes larger lone treescapes.  Namaste, Blain in Japan🇯🇵
