Aren't males predominantly red and females brown with some red, like this one??

Huh.. upon looking these guys up, apparently females have less red than even  this.  Appreciate the correction!

Yes, adult male.

But it is a lovely photo, and the colors on the branches set off the bird beautifully.

Thanks, Eric :). Birdies aren't really my thing, and there are some incredibly talented bird people here. I think this is one of 3 decent bird images I have in my whole catalogue. (But I have more than enough bad ones :D )
