After the storm (skiing)
« on: February 10, 2021, 11:18:23 am »

The sun was at a perfect angle to just hit the tops of the moguls and illuminate the snow the skiers were kicking up.
Monochrome seemed to make a more compelling image than color (not much color here anyway).
Always keep that camera handy! :)

Fantastic, that's how I remember skiing was a few years ago!

Thanks guys!
Yeah, this is Monarch Mountain which is about 45 miles away from here on the Continental Divide off Monarch Pass.
They are a "mom & pop" resort that hasn't been gobbled up by the big ski corporations and that creates a certain retro vibe. They are almost all just double lifts with one very slow fixed grip quad. A real throwback in today's corporate ski world.

The snow is typically great too. You just need warm clothes to be comfortable here. More so than Crested Butte which isn't that far away.
