Where does LR save the imported track log
« on: February 01, 2021, 02:11:09 am »

I am recording a track log on a garmin watch and importing into LR to geotag my images. All very smooth and simple.

The tracklog was in my downloads folder and as I usually keep that folder clean and tidy I wanted to remove the track and then realised I wasn't sure that was a good idea since LR was using it. I moved the gpx file to the desktop and LR seemed to still have access to the track. My question is where and how does LR keep the info? is there anything I need to know about working efficiently with track logs in LR

I am exploring an area south of Johannesburg that is a maze of rural, district and farm roads. It has been difficult to go back to areas I like since I am aimlessly exploring and never really know where I am. This track logging should sort that out.

Thanks

Not to worry. Figured it out. Can’t say it works exactly as I hoped or assumed but it will do the job.

I'm glad you got it sorted.
I've never used a track log, but I can easily get totally lost with no help from such things.

Thanks Eric

It's actually quite useful I think. I was anticipating the track being avaible in the mapping module by default when selecting an image that had previously been tagged using the track. That isn't the case. The image is shown at the correct location on the map but the track is not displayed. Im not certain I actually need the track at this point but I have decided to save them in a folder with the catalogue files and will decide later after a bit more use.
