Thick Matte fine art paper choice for HP Z3200 / 3100

At the moment i like Hahnemuhle PhotoRag 308.

Since my stock is almost finished I would like to know what other paper could be an good choice for this printer.
I like to print BW as much as colour.
For instance I read in the Z9 post that Mark Lindquist likes Moab entrada natural 300gr duo.
Does that paper has any special qualities , better, different than the HM308?
Since i am based in Holland, i can get locally Canson, Hahnemuhle, Moab, and innova...

Duo or paper coated on both sides will lie flatter and have far less edge curl and therefore less possibility of head strikes than single coated paper. For roll paper it's not as noticeable of an improvement as it is with cut sheets. I've switched over to duo for cut sheets for that reason. The Moab Entrada is good for matte and Breathing Color's River Stone Rag is good for satin.

Kers, the Moab Entrada Natural 308 Gsm is totally my and MHMG's favorite paper. Two sides is awesome for back printing or using the front and back for test prints. It has no oba's  it lays flat after de-curling, and sheets are a dream. Try it - you may never use another matte paper.

Mark, since i cannot use MOAB OMS file for the Z3200 on my Z3100; what inkload/paperpreset should i use to start?
MK ink or MP + PK? etc...

Mark L. and I built a wonderful high patch count custom profile for Entrada Rag Natural 300gsm based on the Z3200's "Fine Art paper (more ink)" base media setting. It invokes the MK ink which is what Moab Entrada requires as it is a matte paper very much like Hn Photo Rag. The Entrada Natural 300gsm version is OBA-free (I do not recommend the "Entrada Bright" alternative) and double side coated (both cut sheet and roll version) yet with whitepoint properties and surface texture very close to HN Photo Rag 308gsm (which does contain OBAs in the paper core).

START HERE

Use Fine Art Paper More Ink as your preset.  It will use all the grays and blacks in one of only 6 available combinations (highlighted in Red) available for the Z Series printers.

That should get you going - best wishes Kers.

Aah, yes, I had forgotten that the FAP+ (more ink) setting actually combines PK and MK ink usage. My bad!  Anyway, this is the best setting to use with Moab Entrada.

OK so i see the Quad ink...   i will start there. And i am able to make a 5832 ICC profile with some work...

What i don't understand in that list is the Starwheelheight.  set to LOW
Does that mean you don't see traces of the starwheels on the paper?

I just did some print on clear film and that seems to be the most crisitcal medium - you see everything that goes wrong including starwheel trails...
Even when set to heigh you see the other wheels that are needed for transport.

I set the starwheels to high for FAP More Ink.
