One is a straight photo. The other isn't.

The car looks like the one at Aguereberry Camp in Death Valley National Park. Something did happen in 1890 though - Pete Aguereberry came to America.

The Bullough Pond photo is excellent.

Love 'em both, Eric, though I'm usually not much on stuff created in Photoshop.

Well, we can't be serious all the time.
And Rajan wins the prize for locating the wrecked car.
Can anyone locate the "Nothing Happened" sign? Also on the U.S. West coast, but not in Death Valley.
The background is a little south of Death Valley.
The "face" on the monument is from a tombstone in Mount Auburn Cemetery in Massachusetts, and both shadows are completely fake.

I think it was in Point Loma in San Diego. It looks like it was detached from the house (martians?) and is now levitating around with a notoriously fake shadow
