Color labels
« on: December 28, 2020, 09:55:54 am »

I use Color labels in my catalog.  Is there a way to make the colors brighter and more saturated to make them stand out more?

I've never read of a way to do this.
It's a rather annoying 'feature' aka bug.

I feel ya. They could use a little more contrast. Green and yellow almost look the same.

I would love to be able to change the colors or the hot keys too.

In the grid view, Command-J gives the "Library Grid View" options. Perhaps you inadvertently turned off the option to tint the cells.

And there's a drop-down option to increase the saturation of the cells' tint colors.

Jeffrey,

Thanks so much for you response!!!!  This just made my life easier!!!!!  I had selected "Tint grid cells....." a long time ago but upping the tint to 50% made it much more visible.

Thanks. Not sure I'd ever noticed that option before, but even at 50% the yellow label still looks green.
I can live with it.

Thanks Jeffrey, but that's not it. Something happened after the last V10 update and I have all kind of Metadata conflict issues. The lack of a flag just being one item out of quite a few. I get the thin color border around a shot when I click on one but it is not visible otherwise. I use the colored flags in my workflow when editing and it is a real pain not to see them anymore.

If you simply cannot see them, it sounds like you've been playing around with Metadata > Color Label Set. Change the set back to the one you used before.

I'm not sure if this is what you're missing, but if it's the small colour square at the bottom of the thumbnail then both "Show Rating Footer" and "Include Color Label" need to be checked at the bottom of the screenshot Jeffrey posted above.

You can toggle them on and off while in Library grid view and check to see them turn on and off (assuming you have some color labeled images of course).

Yes, it is the small colored square at the bottom and both boxes are ticked, just like the screenshot. On one hand, missing that box shouldn't be a big deal but on the other hand it really, really messes up my workflow of many years.

Have you cycled through the grid views using J? Or don't you see labels in the filmstrip, in which case make the filmstrip bigger.

Thanks again John. I never look at the film strip and no the colored flag is not there either. I'm talking about the full screen GridView, which in my case is uaually 5 across and four down.

Well, both boxes are NOT checked on the screenshot which is why I posted.
