Sigma 105mm f/1.4
« on: December 25, 2020, 04:51:56 pm »

Just a quick note - I rented this lens for a week to try. Optically it is wonderful, extremely sharp when in focus. But of course there is little reason to use this lens other than wide open, and then focus becomes critical--DOF is tiny. And it's a beast, bulky and very heavy. If I did a lot of portrait work I would buy it. Otherwise no thanks.

Thanks for the assessment. I own both the Sigma 85/1.4 and the 135/1.8. Both as beasts as well, so I'm not surprised the 105 follows in the footsteps.
