The first image is from Bassenthwaite Lake shot at 400mm and cropped. Taken as the first soft sunlight filtered through the mist. The next is a wide shot taken as the sun finally broke through and sent the dynamic range up and more importantly bringing on a slight breeze spoiling the reflections. From this location I drove 5 miles further up the valley (to the right) past Derwentwater which was shrouded in a grey blanket of fog, into Borrowdale to see if I could get to the upper edge of the mist. Unfortunately for most of the time the light was extremely flat until with the last image the sun started to break through. One minute later the sun was shining strongly straight into my face and as it was just after noon, lunch and then home after a happy 6hours. Ken
