FS: 180mm 2.8 Xenotar PQ + 1.4X Tele-Extender Kit *Price Drop*
« on: December 08, 2020, 09:03:24 pm »

I am raising funds for the build out of Northeast Photographic's new commercial space located in Bath Maine. We will be expanding all of our services and offering a rental darkroom, plus workshops and other areas of community outreach. Sadly this means certain luxuries that I've held onto must go. This is the finest camera I've ever used, and if I have the means someday I would snap one up in one instant. But I need to hire plumbers, and electrician, buy furniture, paint the walls, install ventilation, hire movers!, basically the works...so maybe you can enable the continued success of my little lab here in Maine, and get yourself the finest way to expose film on the planet.

Camera Kit:
Hy6 Mod 2 Body
80/2.8 AFD + Hood
WLF
45˚ Prism finder (Leaf AFi Green)
6060 back
Extra Insert
2 batteries + charger
9mm Ext Tube
Metz side mounted flash

^^^^ All of the above for $4900 net to me. I have boxes for a lot of these items, but not all the accessories. The camera kit alone new is about $10k, so this is significant savings. The camera shows signs of use but has no issue areas, it's been a real rockstar in my kit when I've shot it.

Lenses:

50mm 2.8 AFD with metal hood and filter. Excellent condition. $1300

180mm 2.8 PQ (manual focus) with 1.4X tele extender. Equally excellent condition and my favorite of all the three lenses possibly. $1000

The included photos are just to get this post up, if you're seriously interested in investing in this system let me know and I'll provide whatever you need. For anyone that wants to buy everything included, I will make a bundle deal.

By the way, all of the non 4x5 images in this project were shot using the Hy6 Mod 2.  All of it on Provia and all processed and scanned at my lab.

It's just an incredible machine!

Most of these were with the 80, but some were with the 60/3.5 Distagon.  I subsequently swapped the 60 for the 50mm 2.8 AFD.

If you go to my instagram @marksperry you can see a bunch of images from all my lenses.

I'll consider offers on this system, however I won't break up the main camera kit.  I don't have time to sell off the individual parts.

Best 120 camera ever made, snatch it up!

If I didn't have my 203FE I would snatch this up ASAP.

These are the cleanest scans / processing I've ever seen.

What do you scan your photos with / Do you hand process ? Thanks!

Again, I'll consider offers on this kit.  I'm a bit more motivated at the moment.

Just one last thing that I should clarify because I've gotten a a number of questions about this.

The Hy6 Mod 2 has had only a single firmware version.  There were a number of upgrades to the original Hy6, but the Mod 2 is fully current.  You will not find a Hy6 labeled 'mod 2' with an earlier version of the firmware.

For perspective Hy6 Mod 1 buyers, I would recommend finding the latest version of that firmware, as the AF was vastly improved from the original version.  However for manual focusers, not an issue.

Firmware: There are indeed two versions of Hy6 Mod2 firmware.   Latest version is 3.31 and cameras made since July 2020 will have it, older bodies will have 3.30 but there not significant changes between them as far as I have been told.

I know Mark and he's been a good customer. Would not hesitate to deal with him.

Hy6 kit plus the 50mm AFD have sold.

You may proceed with the weeping, wailing, general despair.

Snatch up the 180mm you fools.

Bump for the wonderful 180mm 2.8 PQ Xenotar kit.  A reminder that it includes the 1.4x tele converter at my $1300 price.  I think this is a steal!

I've dropped my price down to $1000 for the lens plus extender.  A heck of a deal IMHO.  Price is still net to me and the $ still goes to the rental darkroom.
