Hey, Joe.  How about an apology to the forum for spreading bullshit?

He's still holding out for a pardon :-)

Yes I think that because in fact they were, with the Strategic National Stockpile with some $7 billion (in 2016) of medical supplies stockpiled for national medical emergencies.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Strategic_National_Stockpile

And then Trump lied (duh) and claimed he inherited an empty stockpile.

And then, between his taking office and the pandemic, his administration refused funding to build the stockpile up in areas, such as N95 masks, that experts warned were in low supply.

It took me all of 15 minutes to find this out.

Well I guess you should have spent 16 minutes then.

Fact Check: The Obama administration left Trump with a “stockpile with a cupboard that was bare.”

"It was full of supplies, but not enough to handle this particular pandemic. Most notably, the stockpile was short of N95 masks, the supply of which was depleted following the 2009 H1N1 outbreak during President Barack Obama’s tenure."

So, although you are somewhat correct in saying Trump exaggerated by saying the stockpile was bare, but, since we are talking about masks, it was short of N95 masks due to Obama burning through them and not replacing any.

More then likely this is what Trump was referring too and just being his hyperbole self when saying the entire stockpile was bare.  It would have took you just one more minute Peter to find this, just one more.

Sure, as soon as you apologize for miscontreying my comments on Obama and actually take a true self reflective look at your side.

But anyway, I should have been more clear, she has a degree and practice in child psychology, not exactly my choice for a health expert.  If given the option between a child psychologist or a real MD, I would go with latter every day of the week, especially for public health issues.

But anyway, like I said, she did a horrible job in PA and this is nothing but identity politics rearing its ugly head.

You are confusing psychology with psychiatry. To be a licensed psychologist, you need only have a bachelors degree and a masters degree in psychology. To be a psychiatrist, you need a doctor of medicine degree (M.D.). Dr. Levine has an M.D. degree and practiced child psychiatry. If you had a child with psychiatric problems, you would want to go to a child psychiatrist, not just any old "real MD". Public health includes mental health. Suicide is the second leading cause of death in children and young adults.

You have consistently mischaracterized Dr. Levine's credentials. First you said she didn't have a medical degree and couldn't write prescriptions. Then you said she was a child psychologist. All of those statements are false. Why do that? Why not just say in your opinion she did a lousy job as Pennsylvania's Secretary of Health? Strewing your posts with false assertions doesn't do anything for your credibility. Quite the opposite.

...this is nothing but identity politics rearing its ugly head.

Is it identity politics anytime someone other than a white male is selected? Why isn't it identity politics when a white male is selected?

Such a relief! He sounds so presidential. And literate! I never thought I'd appreciate those qualities in a president so much.

If you didn't just see Amanda Gorman's poem/speech you missed something incredible.

She was so fantastic and beautiful. Garth Brooks' appearance was a nice too and a good gesture.
But Amanda was just so good. Damn!

I listened to part of Biden's inaugural address, coherent thoughts expressed in complete sentences. Makes a pleasant change.

Congratulations with this great turnover. Now that 'truth' will get its meaning back and the US its credibility.

Let the fawning begin!

I am sure though that within a week serious questions will be asked, such as "is your favorite ice cream flavor still the same as it was a month ago?" or "have you and Jill figured out the Peloton schedule yet?"

You know, serious matters that deserve national attention.
