Just to clarify a point for the truth brigade here, the former leader of the senate removed the filibuster for federal judges opening up the door for Republicans to remove them for supreme court judges.

Schumer...  He's been grooming himself his whole life to become president of the senate.

On January 20th, Kamala Harris will become President of the Senate as Vice President of the United States.

You're right.  Schumer becomes Majority Leader.  I don't think he ever wanted to be the VP.  Being president of the senate is worse, a useless position except for a 50/50 tie which there will be this term.

Schumer said that if the democrats win Georgia, then they take over the world.  So I don't suspect he's in any mood to compromise.  He's been grooming himself his whole life to become president of the senate.  I don't think he'll want to share anything with anyone.

I thought ambition was a good thing.

The spectacle is now underway as the Anti-Democracy Party objects to electoral votes being counted from Arizona while Trump seeks to divert attention by speaking at a rally making false claims about the election. Although the Anti-Democracy Party is working to undermine democracy; it will emerge battered but intact following their show put on for the purpose of appeasing Trump and his supporters.

According to Trump and his sycophants, the President of the Senate can unilaterally decide which electoral votes count and which do not. It's a lie of course.

Pence's comments on the situation.  Basically, he says he only counts them and facilitates the process of hearing objections but does not himself rule on which electoral votes are counted or not or their legitimacy.  That's up to members of Congress.

That's up to members of Congress.

Not at this moment it isn't. It's in the hands of mob rule enflamed by a completely disgraced president's lies and false narratives.

The enablers and complicit are those that minimized and normalized the bizarre behavior and rhetoric all along. The self deceived that were unwilling and/or unable to see thru the veil have made this national shame possible.

The biggest problems will be inflation, the deficit and debt, and the required taxes to support it.

The biggest problem will be moving the brainwashed members of the Trump anti-democracy conspiracy cult back to the fringes of the Republican Party where they belong in order to restore respect for democracy and the rule of law. Unfortunately, the lies and false narratives from Trump will linger in the minds of far too many for far too long.

Biden's been around a long time.  Hopefully, he'll temper those on the left with his own experience and sanity.

In the absence of the President of the United States, at least the President Elect stepped up to address the assault on democracy inspired and enflamed by the President's lies. He sounded sober, calm, and firm.

So, after months of calling soon-to-be President Biden senile—now you choose to refer to his "experience and sanity".

Not just by Trump. The people who echoed his views publicly and supported them throughout here (Alan, Craig, Joe,...) and elsewhere are just as responsible for what is happening now.

If what they wanted was to hurt America internally and in front of the world they have succeeded beyond their wildest dreams.

Cheers,
Bernard

He won. At my age of 75, I recognize that older people can slow down both physically and mentally yet still retain and use wisdom.  Unlike those on your side, I give respect to the president whoever he is, and wish him well rather than trying to undermine him for five years with fake charges.  His success is America's success.  I now have to set aside my doubts and hope that with God's help he will do a good job in a very challenging and tough position.

A very apt summary.

Unlike you, I do not give respect to someone simply because he occupies a position. That is fealty and obeissance. Respect is earned. Trump never did anything to earn my respect. Quite the contrary.
