Color Management in Cell Phones
« on: October 25, 2020, 02:18:01 pm »

I sent an image from my PC to a friend via WhatsApp. Nice Autumn colors.
Now this time I checked and discovered, that the colors are not the same in my calibrated screen and in the (in this case) Samsung phone. I assume that it was expecting too much?
The image had ben converted previously to sRGB.
I downloaded it from Whatsapp and compared with the original.
They are not the same.
The image I sent has "Working RGB: sRGB..."
The same image downloaded from Whatsapp has "Don't Color Manage This Dokument"
FWIW
Just wondering

Sounds like that app is not color managed. As such, sRGB is a meaningless concept.

Seems like it.
I sent the image to myself via gmail and it looks OK.

Thanks
