Monarch butterflies
« on: October 12, 2020, 07:36:38 pm »

We had two monarch chrysalises (that we found), one on the porch chair and one on a solar light in the garden. Both hatched this morning, and I was able to find one or both of the butterflies several times over the course of the day. This is as close as I get to being a nature or macro photographer :)

All photos shot with the Sony G 90mm macro, on either an A9 or an A7R3.

I decided to try my hand at capturing BIF - butterflies in flight, which turned out to be more difficult than the more common birds in flight.

Very nice. I had the advantage that they had just hatched and weren't quite flying yet.

Well that would not have been an advantage since I was looking for BIF!  ;)
