I find these images so interesting. In this particular case the background choice works wonderfully with the subject.

Francois, I saw the light area at the top as the incoming tide, but you're right, it could be read either way.

The backgrounds in this and also the 'Ascension' image are pieces of wood I rediscovered in our damp garage, used to raise and protect bags of cement and mortar.

The moral of this story, never throw anything away!
