Dreaming of Burano or Murano, perhaps?

Nice dream (definitely not a nightmare.)

Thanks, all.

Dreaming of Burano or Murano, perhaps?

I went there a couple of days later, Keith. This is in central Venice.

Thank you for the evocative image.

How I would love to be back in Venice and her islandst now, hopefully without the inevitable crowds.

I was there, and took this, the week before last. It was busier than I'd expected (the film festival was in its second week, which might account for some of the people), but very far from packed. There were no cruise ships, which of course helped.

Some places were shut (including the basilica San Marco, which was disappointing) but the queues for the rest were short. Having to wear a mask detracted somewhat from the enjoyment, particularly in hot interiors. I had a very enjoyable few days, though, with a great deal on a lovely, central hotel and some excellent food.
