Two Icelandic waterfalls
« on: September 12, 2020, 03:50:38 am »

Waterfalls are a constant presence in Iceland, they grace the landscape with their presence pretty much everywhere you look. Some are more iconic than others, and among the iconic ones Kirkjufellsfoss and Skogafoss are definitely high on the list. Here they are, photographed in winter:

Kirkjufellsfoss at Sunset, 6 seconds, Hasselblad X1D II, Hasselblad XCD 21mm and Formatt-Hitech Firecrest filters.

Skogafoss at Sunrise, 3 seconds, Hasselblad X1D II, Hasselblad XCD 30mm and Formatt-Hitech Firecrest filters.

Perfect season for these two waterfalls… The sky is superb and the long exposure perfectly suited here. My favorite is the first one… I especially like the juxtaposition of the mountain and the waterfall.

Thank you very much for your comment, Francois. I totally agree with you, winter is amazing for waterfall in Iceland and I will share some more "icy" photos soon. Glad you enjoyed #1 here! :)

Great images! Thanks for sharing.

Here is a shot from my 2017 vacation to Iceland, my first visit. Shot with a Fuji X-T2 and XF 10-24 lens with a 10 stop Lee filter. Processed in Capture One Pro 20.
