Panasonic announcements
« on: September 02, 2020, 06:04:12 pm »

Glad to see that Panasonic has finally understood that compactness is an important dimension of mirrorless.

I am especially happy to see their decision to follow Nikon in planning to release a full set of high quality f1.8 primes.

Cheers,
Bernard

Nikon ? m43 (that btw includes Panasonic) had (not like "planning") way fuller set of HQ F1.8 & F1.7 primes years before Nikon ... so if anything Panasonic follows themselves, not some "Nikon"

The point being whether these lenses are cheapish lenses or are targeting the best possible level of image quality with a moderate aperture.

Nikon also had a full line up of f1.8 lenses in their DSLR days, but they were mid-range lenses, not the "L glass" level of lenses that we have today with the S f1.8 primes.

Anyway, the point was "well done Panasonic".

Cheers,
Bernard
