Use ColorMunki Design for optimized printer profiling to make sure that the color your see on your display is the color you will get on your RGB or CMYK printer. It’s high quality printer profiling gives you complete color control, even with spot colors.

Doh! I stand corrected. Yep, the X-Rite page says the ColorMunki Design does printer profiling.

But I don't think I'm imagining it that some of the X-Rite products that are not sold as "Photo" versions get locked out of printer profiling, even if the hardware is identical. Can anyone clarify this / tell me which devices, although hardware-suitable for printer profiling, are locked out by X-Rite software? Thanks!

It makes no scene that X-rite sells a Spectrophotometer and locks anyone out of printer profiling and I know of no such case it does. Now they DO lock you out of CMYK printer profiling with some lesser expensive versions of the SAME hardware. Hence Design and it's description specifically of doing CMYK and RGB printer profiles. Photo to the best of my understanding locks users out of making CMYK printer profiles.

That review you link to is for the i1Studio spectrophotometer, not the ColorMunki Design.

you clearly did not read it entirely before posting... I suggest that you do  ;D
