Epson P800 Printing to the edge of a roll

Okay, I have numerous "custom sizes" setup in Lightroom so that I print with no border BUT I can't seem to get the P800 to print the full 17" width of the paper roll? It stops about 1/4" short on each edge, even though I have borders at 0" and feel that I have all the settings established to print the full 17". I feel that I've tried about everything.

Anyone have any tips to accomplish this?

This question is in relation to the possibility that I may spring for the 24" SureColor printer but I would want that one ONLY if I can print the full 24" width of the roll also ~ since 24x30, 24x36 etc... is a common frame size and would not work if it only goes 23.5"?

I would appreciate any advice on this.

Under page setup do you have "Borderless auto expand" checked?
Sometimes it needs the zoom to fill box checked as well. This is in Lightroom.

I tried your recommendations but I am still not able to print to the edge of a roll with my 17" printer. I'm printing on Epson Exhibition Canvas Matte and when I select "Roll-Borderless, Auto Expand" or "Roll-Borderless, Retain Size" and with the "Zoom to Fill" checked my printer reports that I can't print borderless with the media I am using!

In my custom size for the roll all margins are set to 0".

I also tried making the roll size a custom size of 17.25" to see if that would somehow overcome the 1/8" borders but same thing occurs;) Is there, perhaps, another brand of roll canvas that would allow borderless printing?

Any other ideas from anyone? Sure would be nice to print to 17" width on my 17" printer. I must still be missing something because Roll printing is the only time I have an issue of it not printing to the exact size I specify.... I'm printing from Lightroom.

Have you tried mine? It is free, painless and works.

The manual does not list any canvas as compatible with borderless printing (page 71)
(In fact neither does my P8000 although I've only printer borderless on paper)

I did look at it but perhaps I'm reading the Mirage website wrong? It says a 14-day trial and then the purchase prices are listed in Euros.... which I did convert for USD. Are you referring to a version that, after the trial, does not require purchase? What I'm looking at requires a purchase.

I weighed the purchase price vs being unable to print the 1/8" remaining along each edge and just trying to factor that in to my needs, but no I have not tried the trial as of yet. I trust that it does work as you describe.

Yes but surely in the 14 days you can work out if it is the printer that can not print borderless on that roll paper or Lightroom.
At the moment you don't know from what I can see.

Honestly though, once you have tried printing from a printing programme you will probably never print from an editing programme again.

Wanted to ask you something about your borderless issue. If you are framing, the white edge will be covered in the frame rabbet as most rabbets are at least 3/8"
 If you are mounting to gator board you would normally have a 1/4' bleed all around and it gets trimmed off.(You could gain a little in that situation)  Lastly if you are doing  canvas gallery wraps it goes around back and you don't see it.
What is your application that requires it to be borderless?
 Will fire my P800 up tomorrow and see what mine does.
I don't see canvas on the list but for my Lexjet canvas the media setting is watercolor paper radiant white.
If that setting is all that is keeping you from printing borderless why don't you try one of the paper settings that allow borderless printing.

Yes, a standard frame with the 1/4" rabbit does cover it and I did eventually realize that it was perhaps not as needed as I first thought. I will try that with paper settings though. Interesting.
