Macro set up for 1:1
« on: August 09, 2020, 08:00:35 am »

I have borrowed a 105mm F mount macro lens for a family project scanning 35mm slides and negatives at 1:1 using a Z6 with the FTZ.

I'm having a problem filling the frame with the 36x24mm image using the lens set to 1:1 as marked on the barrel moving the subject to set focus.

Any suggestions to solve this issue?

See attached sample image.

Use an extension ring, or a dedicated Macro filter-mount lens.

The flange to sensor distance is shorter on a mirrorless camera so you need an extension tube or bellows to correct.

I have solved the issue.  There is a dedicated extension ring to reach 1:1 available for the old lens.
