Nice Surprise
« on: July 09, 2020, 06:09:39 am »

I took this picture of a female Goosander four months ago. She had lost a lot of feathers on the right side, probably a bite from some predator (see picture)
We visited that place at the river many times and she was always around. But we know that these birds go away for a while and supposed that she couldn't fly.
Then came Corona Virus and we ceased to go there, too many people around.
When we started again to visit the  place, there were ducks, swans, herons, cormorans but the goosander weren't there anymore

And now, yesterday, there she was again. Together with a female friend. Her primary feathers are still missing but she survived.
Maybe they can grow again?

The duck's hair looks like a famous politician's head after he gets out of the airplane.
