Crop Tool in Photoshop problem
« on: July 03, 2020, 10:06:57 pm »

I have the latest version of Photoshop. Mac OS 10.14.6. When I crop an image, using the checkmark to complete the crop, the image disappears and photo image in the Layers thumbnail is replaced by a checkerboard pattern that looks like pixels blown up to over 12,000.Delete cropped pixels is not checked and it happens both when "Use Classic Mode" is checked and when it is unchecked. This only happens when I use a custom crop or the WxH Res choice. I tried resetting preferences, no improvement, then uninstalled and reinstalled PS, still no fix.Any suggestions?

Is your video card enabled in preferences?  Disable it if so and see if that affects it.

Someone else solved the problem for me. You can't create a custom ratio using WxH Resolution, because that sets up the number of pixels, not the ratio. You must use "Ratio".
