So quiet and peaceful. The reflection is incredible and the composition skilfully avoids a perfect symmetry!

That is quite beautiful.

If that was taken at this time of year, there must have been several million midges in that scene. In 1974 we couldn't get out of our car close to the shore. We had to move away at least a quarter mile to get away from them.

But it is a lovely place.

Pieter - Mý is the Icelandic word for midges and vatn means lake. So, Mývatn = lake of midges.

Eric - This was taken in the Fall of 2015. No midges at that time (thankfully).

Lovely - brings back memories of our visit there a few years ago. And we *had* midges!!

I particularly enjoy the foreground, not having a straight reflection adds another layer to explore.
