A lone photographer at Bamburgh Castle with 3 new images
« on: May 24, 2020, 09:01:41 am »

I was initially disappointed, having left my house at stupid o'clock, not to be greeted by a fiery sky but have slowly come to appreciate the soft tones present. Ken

A good non-cliche image. Not every sky needs to be fiery.

Agreed.  And, for us at least, most landscape images look better with a photographer in them. :)

Some do, some don't. I was initially cross that this chap had beaten me to the dunes, and was a dune ahead of me. Then realisation dawned.

(No wish to hijack the thread, Ken. I love your photo!)

No problems about hi-jacking. Many camera club judges look askance at photogrpahers in images but they also tend to quote "rules" that I don't agree with. Some more images taken before this, not long after I left for another location. Ken

I really like the second one from the three shown above, lovely pastel colours, great composition and well worth getting up at 'stupid o'clock' for in my opinion. I also like how the dawn coloured cloud to the left, along with the rock in the sea, gives the image a counterbalancing weight for the castle.

So all in all, a really lovely image and if you have any space left on your walls, then might I suggest that this would be a good shot to fill it with  :)

Excellent image.

Thanks, Paulo, if it's me you're talking to.  It's a self portrait on my 65th birthday - the day I officially became a senior citizen :)

Pietr I feel that your cloud is too dominant. I had played with the luminosity and colour balance and decided to keep it calm and restful. Your changes, while adding drama, have changed the mood and removed the restful and calm mood and for me I prefer calm to drama. Ken

I agree and it was not my intention to make it 'better'; i can't. It is your photo.
Just wanted to overdo it a bit as a comment to so many landscape photos we see here and everywhere.
Your photo is perfect a photo for that. The colours are there, just not set to the extremes in saturation and contrast.

The light falling across the castle is absolutely gorgeous.
