Castle Crag and Borrowdale

Previously unprocessed because it looked less than pin sharp. Rescued (slowly) with Topaz sharpen AI. Ken

I think it's gorgeous man. I know how you feel though. If you didn't call attention to the lack of sharpness, most viewers would probably never notice. One thing I do to remedy this situation can be to enhance sharpness and details in the foreground if possible. This gives it a natural feel like what's near to us is sharp, and whats far may have particulate matter in the air that makes it a little softer or fuzzy. I think this is how the orton effect was born.

Thanks everyone for the comments. I have a much sharper image taken a few minutes afterwards athough the light and clouds are perhaps a touch nicer in the first image. I could merge them together but I don't do that anymore. Murph, unfortunately the foreground is dead bracken and it never looks good so I have tried to subdue it as much as possible. Ken

The marginal benefit from the sharpness in the second outweighs the elements of sky and light in the first for me.

The second one works perfectly for me, even without the clouds, etc., from the first.
