Canyonlands
« on: April 16, 2020, 07:21:43 am »

From 18 months ago, taken during my epic journey all the way across America to many of the places that MR went to in his video journals - and what a fantastic photographic holiday I had, so thanks Michael  :)

Perfect sky and reflections. Conditions were just right for those majestic rock formations.

Yes me to, but this time we are also going to do the entire West coast of America from top to bottom and all points in between if we can - fingers crossed etc...

Thanks for that Earlybird and yes of course I am more than happy to show you where I took this pano shot, so here is a linked view that will show you exactly where I jumped out of my car to take this shot - just go around (or over) the fence and setup in front of this smallish body of water on a calm day, as the sun is starting to go down on your right as you look down the length of this small man made lake - Go Here

..and don't forget to show us your version of this scene, when you do get chance to go out and take it of course  ;)

I LOVE that road.  Been down it a few times.  So glad you found it!

Just short of the Needles District on that very same road.

Hi Dave,
Thanks for sharing the info. I commend your eye and vision, I have driven by that reservoir many times, and often stopped to watch ducks, but never imagined that a composition such as you made was there to be realized. Well done!

 Thank you!

No problem and thank you so much  :)

Lovely shot of you enjoying being in that area Peter, and if only we could all have the opportunity of being there right this minute, I imagine it would lead to quite a few beverages being consumed with much smiling and merriment, as well as lots of photography related stories being shared around the campfire etc.

Thanks again everyone  :D

Anybody got anything from Druid Arch down there? I took my jeep a little ways back in there, then decided I loved her too much to break her...

Not me, that's for sure.  I just searched it on Google Maps.  I have high clearance, but 2WD and a non-locking diff.

Ain't gonna happen unless I walk.

Beautiful! I have not been down to that part of the park for many years. I usually wind up closer to Moab but this reminds me I need to get back to the Needles District.

Here's where I shot that image.  An absolutely superb, free BLM lands unofficial campsite.  Easy access to any vehicle.

Just don't be there occupying the prime site when I next show up!  :)
