This image was so flat looking out of the camera. I filmed a little video on YouTube showing how I go about contrast adjustments for anyone interested.

Hi,

What a gorgeous bird and congratulations on taking such an image, even with catch lights in the eyes.  Re flatness, in a a book by David Hockney on the history of pictures, he opines that shadows give volume. There seems to be little shadow in this, but that is nit picking, I think about a great image.

There's plenty of shadows in the background. It's just that the bird is a little flat because of one camera flash.
