The American people were cheated.   By limiting the selection process to black females only, Biden eliminated 90% the country where someone more qualified than Kamala Harris could have been picked.

Those potential selectees within the 90% were also cheated. They weren't even considered.

Well, for you, that should be all the more reason to vote for Trump, who always acts fairly. If Biden had chosen a better candidate in a fair process, he might be more electable, and we would be that much closer to socialism.

I disagree with your premise, your argument, and your conclusion. Like I said, if you believe Biden acted unfairly and cheated the American people by picking Harris as his VP running mate, don't vote for him.

We weren't discussing her qualifications.  We were discussing the racist way Biden selected her.

Maybe Biden spotted that there’s a race problem in America and came up with the crazy ass idea that a good way to fix it might start with someone who actually understands it.

You can't solve the race problem by being prejudicial and selecting people on the basis of race.  That's contradictory. It justifies racism.   You have to set it aside.

You're right Jeremy.  All these posts really belong on the 2020 election thread.  Threads have a habit of getting morphed from one topic to the other.

Canada has its own provinces and territories, each with their premiers and health systems...so it's not much different than the states. Big difference here is there is cooperation starting with out Prime Minister. We've had a conservative Premier ( like a governor ) praise the liberal Prime Minister ( like president ) on the job he was doing.

I don't see any praise given out by the republicans nor the democrats for their counter parties in the states. I just see back stabbing starting from your president.

And you wonder why things are different in the states. Just look no further than your leadership...or totally lack thereof.

I think part of the problem is unfortunately we're having presidential and congressional elections this year.  So neither side wants the other side to look good.  That's hurting medical and economic cooperation. Sure the president is playing politics.  But so are the Democrats.

You and your interlocutors have both made some reasonable points in your discussion of Biden's selection of a candidate for vice president.  But I question the utility of making the same points over and over again.

How about subjecting each post to this test: "Am I preparing to say something here that I haven't, at least in substance, said before?"

If you're really trying to persuade others, rather than just indulge yourself, more time spent framing new arguments and less on repeating old ones is a good trade-off.  Quantity is not quality.

Chris, argue with Jeremy not me.  He objected that presidential discussions didn't belong in the thread about Covid Politics.  Frankly, he's being reasonable.  There's another thread about 2020 presidential politics where it would fit better.
