In my opinon its never going to be newsworthy.  Its done.  The media will need something else to try and panic hte masses.

BTW, Whats the death count for the EU?  I think you will find in the end it will be the incompetence of many of the Govenors that will be what matters, given they are in charge of their china virus problems and now the riots.  Its going to be an interesting election.

I have to wonder if the press will still praise Cuomo after tonight.  He refused to call in the guard, so as not to give Trump a win, and let the excuse for a mayor stay in charge even though it is obvious he doesn’t know his ass from a hole in the ground.  By all reports right now, NYC looks prime to burn tonight.

But remember, the photo opt in front of the church is the real story.   8)

... How do you form an opinion? My understanding (which I thought was as universal as anything gets)
1. You collect facts by reading and listening to several information sources
2. You position these facts relative to your pre-existing understanding
3. You leverage knowledge, logic and common sense (hint: not all opinions have the same value, not all apples should be cut in the middle in case of partisan disagreement - only facts and logic decide where to cut)
4. You adjust your Pre-existing understanding if the facts don’t support it
5. You revisit your perception of facts if new credible evidence is added...

So, what went wrong in your case!?

George Will, one of America's leading conservative columnists, calls for Trump's ouster and the ouster of many senators and representatives who have enabled him.

In the same spirit, I am calling for ouster of all Democrats in Congress, and from all governorships and mayorships across the country.

So, what went wrong in your case!?

Slobodan,

I don’t think you get to play that card, it belongs to my 8 years old daughter and even her is starting to outgrow it.

No need to confess in public, it’s between you and your conscience.

But I'll answer nonetheless... :-)

I follow the process I described all the time.
- I do read news from many different news sources, in different countries and in different languages
- I do change my mind when new validated facts appear that change my understanding of a topic, one recent example is the chloriquine
- This can modify my perception of things, for instance I now have some doubts about the objectivity of the Lancet, which I never had in the past

On the topic at hand, I have not found any credible information source that changed my perception that:
- Trump downplayed the pandemic: we have tens of declarations from Trump himself that are beyond any possible, this is not media reporting
- The focused on his re-election more than on the safety of Americans and the economy of the country: this is one interpretation of his deeds, but I have not seen any other credible explanation. Him being grossly incompetent is another one, but I don't thing it's credible
- This caused the deaths of tens of thousands of people and is the main reason why the economic impacts are as severe in the US: this is 99% likely as far as deaths is concerned, and credible analysis start to emerge (for example the eye opening comparisons between Denmark and Sweden) that confirm the hypothesis that confinement isn't the main cause of the economic impacts, it's the pandemic itself that is

What I would like to understand from you is how you are applying this process?

Cheers,
Bernard

But where is the other guy on this?
I don't know if he gets any coverage in the US but he may as well be mute in the rest of the world.

Houston police chief asks Trump to zip it, https://www.cnn.com/videos/politics/2020/06/01/houston-police-chief-art-acevedo-trump-mouth-shut-vpx.cnn. Too funny. I remember the good ole days when people made fun of Italian politics.

Yesterday the USA had again more than 1,000 deaths.

Global data you can see here:

https://ourworldindata.org/coronavirus-data

There is percapita information there, USA doing worse than Europe, has was already known.

You don't think that characterizing that police officer as a Mexican is exactly part of the problem?

So you have the numbers, answer the question.  It was quite specfic.  How do the deaths in the EU compare to the US?

Well America has said "screw the pandemic" for the most part and have gotten back to the very important business of burning down cities and stealing stuff.

Italy, Spain, Belgium, Netherlands and France have now significantly fewer new cases and deaths than before. Most East European countries show even lower numbers.

Fake but true!

Sure, creative cover, however kind of misleading.

Last I checked it was the failure of all Democratic mayors, but one, to allow riots to break out and their city to burn down.  Not to mention, governors initially refused to call in the guard just because they did not want to give into Trump's suggestion.

This whole mess is of the liberals making.  They have for the past 4 years been selling this idea that you must be anti-Trump everything even if you would have agreed with him before, even if doing so goes against logic.  Now we are seeing the result of it.

Not to mention what the Dems are selling is a false bill of goods.  They are trying to capitalize on the dangerous intersectional politics by telling America that the country is inherently racist and a system built against minorities, but that if you vote for them they will fix it.  The issue though is that the logical solution to this problem is to tear down the country completely, not vote in different people, and those that are buying into this premise on a gut level know this especially since these cities have been progressively democratically run for decades.

This is a mess of the left's making, and now we have a leadership vacuum.  Trump's, admittedly, mediocre response to this mess is what is going to fill that vacuum, just like Nixon's did in 1968.
