This is just not true. 

I was in Australia at the end of Feb and beginning of March, and your government did not take this anymore seriously then us.

Everyone is assuming that the flow of infected people was the same throughout the world.  That's statistically impossible.  For whatever reason, infected people traveled coincidentally to different places giving those places get higher infection rates.  Depending on who were infected also could have created imbalances.  If a bunch of people from Wuhan who were infected traveled to NY and let's say Italy rather than Melbourne, infections in Melbourne would be less.   There's no way an equal amount of infected traveled in exactly the same percentage so that the infections were spread around equally.  Frankly, a lot of this has been the luck of the draw.

Certainly we have different opinions about the effectiveness of western leaders including Trump and the state's governors. But that doesn't give China a free pass for hiding information and lying about its seriousness that made the pandemic worse.

Yes, China hid the seriousness for too long...but Trump did absolutely nothing good after shutting down travel from China. Alan...you seem to want to lynch the Chinese, but give your Trumpeter a free pass. You can't do much about China...but you sure can do something about the person responsible for the chaos in the US...yet you seem to support the fool.

We're covering the same stuff again.  Meanwhile, when Trump shut down travel from CHina, his presidential contender Biden, called him a racist and xenophobe for doing it.  So when I vote in November, which man showed more wisdom about handling it?  If Covid 19 didn't extend like ebola didn;t, which we did prepare for to a certain extent, and TRump shut down the economy, everyone would have called him a fool for doing it.  The fact is no one is a prophet with these things.  It's easy to pick winners after the race is over.  Your argument are just politics as usual.

I actually replied to this earlier in the other thread. If you take the central European countries and group them -- Italy, France, Germany, Spain, the Netherlands and the UK -- they have almost the same total population as the US, and about 45,000 more dead. Did The Guarniad mention anything about that? 8-)

Our death per millions is middle of the pack with 240/million.  Spain's is 570/million and we really dont know China's since we can not trust their data.  The UK, where this article is from, has a rate of 469/million.

Well, it nice to see Cuomo get on the bandwagon.  It only took two weeks of the press questioning him about the nursing home policy that was obviously a horrible choice for him to change it.
