PR handled the hurricane like shit, just like New Orleans handled Katrina like shit.  Plenty of heads rolled in PR recently over this.  It was the reposciblity of the local politicians in New Orlean to maintain the levies, but instead they used the moneys given for other projects and to pad their accounts.  The mayor told everyone to stay in the city and not evacuate even though the contrary was recommended.  But when the press reported, the locals were the heroes and Bush was not.

It was all local government failures.  The difference is the press goes out of their way to admonish republican presidents over these things whereas with Dems they praise them.
The New Orleans mayor who was in cahrge at the time of the hurricane was a crook who went to jail for kickbacks and other fraud.

I was listening to Gov Cuomo yesterday.  He was again compaining again about how hard it is to get PPE because everyone is fighting for the same purchases.  He's back blaming the federal government.  Then he says NY State spends two billion for supplies every year.  So why didn't NY have the PPE stored to begin with?  Why did they have to beg for it?  NY is one of the richest states in the country.  It has a budget of $175 billion. NYC has  a budget of $90 billion.  Between the two of them, they should take responsibility for their lack of equipment instead of blaming Trump.  Mayor DI Blasio also blamed him instead of taking responsibility.  And the pro-Democrat biased media goes along with it.  I don't hear anyone asking the question, Why Gov Cuomo weren't you and NYS prepared?  Everyone wants to be in charge and blame the other guy when things go bad.

Alan...from your perspective...what is Trump responsible for in all this mess. Looks like you sheeple feel he has no responsibility for this mess. He's got you trained blaming everyone else except the person in the mirror.

Who is us?

Are you under the impression that you are representing the US? Many here seem to strongly disagree with this view.

Regards,
Bernard

If an American wants to say something nasty about their president, it's their right.  But it's just not very polite to constantly insult the leader of another country and his supporters.  It's like you got this compulsion about it.  After all you're a European who lives in Japan 10,000 miles away.  You don't vote here, pay taxes here, own a home here, are not a native,, you don't work here, sleep here, or raise a family here.  You didn't go to school here.  You weren't born here and won't die and be buried here.  So your knowledge is very limited and your stake as well.  Knowing how we should be governed and how we should live, and how we should be taxed and how we should spend our money is awfully conceited.  Maybe you should fly back to your home country instead of hiding out in Japan and correct it's ways instead of pointing your finger at other people.

Encouraging and signing for the $6 trillion giveaway packages.  A bonehead plan with more to follow.  I've said this before.  But you weren't paying attention just looking to call me names.

Yeah.  They're giving all my money to restaurants I won't go too.  :)  They'll be out of business in short order.  It really is a disaster.  People don't realize the tsunami that's coming.

So from your perspective, Trump had zero responsibilities in dealing with the pandemic and saving lives.

Of course he does.  And he's done a pretty good job of it.  He's gotten all the states their PPE, is organizing the CDC's work which is coordinating drugs and vaccine development and getting tests to states, The CDC has also created standards for re-opening the country for the states to follow, got American manufacturers to make ventilators and other PPE,  FEMA support, Army Corp of Engineers, he sent the hospital ships to NY and California, built hospitals, and provided additional military staff and doctors to assist in hospitals and to build temporary medical facilities.  He's also closed borders restricting immigration and travelers to the US.  He's done a lot.

These arguments are killing me.  :)

Anyway, the governments in Cuba, Venezuela, China, North Korea, limit guns severely.  Why do you think that is?

Not to mention the governments in Australia, New Zealand, Canada, Germany, France, the UK (who even limit firearms availability to the police) and, you know, pretty well all developed countries.  Except yours.

Interesting stats.

Germany is touted as doing a great job with covid.  They have a population of about 90 million. Rounded upward current numbers are 165K cases and 7,000 deaths.

If we take the three largest States in the US, Calfornia, Texas and Florida and combine them we get a population of around 90 million.

With the same rounding, Calif has 55K cases and 2300 deaths.  Texas has 32K cases and 900 deaths. Florida has 36K cases and 1400 deaths.

Totaled:  123K cases and 4600 deaths.

So how does that compare to the "gold standard", Germany?

Funny how none of our Democraps bothered to respond to this.

Nice try.

Taiwan has a population of nearly 24 million.  Wanna guess how many Covid deaths they have?

New covid cases your three states 1000 a day; Germany 100 a day...  come again in a few weeks... ( or include NY)
Besides that it is comparing apples with pears in many ways... then we also have statistics that are not based on the right numbers...

More to the point is Equador, Brazil and Russia; where things get out of hand and the government is doing a very bad job, neglecting the problem too long and trying to calm down the people with false stats.

Nobody wanna guess about Taiwan?  Huh?

I'll tell you, since you're obviously reluctant to answer.

Six.

And that's in a VERY densely populated area, unlike those listed in Slobodan's lovely chart.  North Dakota?  Nebraska? Really?  Get a grip. A statistical anomaly.

Are you saying that the lockdown states the chart uses for comparison are densely populated? New Mexico, Oregon, and Maine? Really!?

I suggest you do a little research maroon.  I have said repeatedly, that aside from a few ASIAN countries, the world acted pretty much on the same timeframe.
