OK, I get it now. Lemme be sure:

By your measure (and the rest of the right side of the spectrum) nearly everybody (the media and academia) is wrong except talk radio?

If we had journalists like we did in years past, only giving us the facts without editorializing it, I would say no.

But today's word is more complicated, since so many journalists have decided to engage in editorializing.  It happens on the right as well, but the left really engages in it.  Baquet of the NYTs even said as much a couple of years ago; he said that you can no longer be only objective in the era of Trump and needed to editorialize the news now.  This, obviously, not only destroys the news by creating bias in the language that it uses, but opens up the possibility media outlets will engage in yellow journalism if it suits their biases.

The NYTs gives us two great examples of this, recently.  The Doctor whom they said was fired because he opposed hydroxychloroquine turned out to be false.  Politico did only miminal reporting to find the real story, and it turned out he was just an asshole that needed to be fired.  Additionally, another is the rather poor excuse Baquet used to justify the lack of coverage on the Biden assault charge when they went overboard on the Kavanaugh one, even though Reid is more credible then Ford.

There is biases like this all over the place in the news, most often in the direction of the left.  This is why so many  journalistic watch dog  groups constantly  give political coverage a poor review.

PS, why dont you stop contorting my words to fit your bias and actually try to understand what I am saying.  You're turning into the New York Times.   ;)

I've not contorted your words at all.

If you think that editorializing by the media is a new thing, you've not been reading much news in the past.  Ever hear of "yellow journalism"? (Hearst, et al?)  Of course you have.  But then, it was the right being yellow, not the left.

I'm just trying to understand why the right says "nearly everybody's against us!", but don't see the irony of those words.

If a large majority of the media, academia AND the general populace says something is true, probably they're correct.  Not always correct, mind you, but frequently.  Even usually.

LOL, did you even read what I wrote?  I actually used the term "yellow journalism" in the post you responded to.

This just shows you do have an agenda and are going out of your way to contort me in a fashion that fits your narrative.

Yep, you're right - all sarcasm and fake news ?

Revealed: Mark Grenon, leader of group peddling bleach as coronavirus 'cure' wrote to Trump this week saying chlorine dioxide ‘can rid the body of Covid-19’ days before the president promoted disinfectant as treatment.

https://www.theguardian.com/world/2020/apr/24/revealed-leader-group-peddling-bleach-cure-lobbied-trump-coronavirus

The Guardian?    But seriously, you have a problem with people offering up ideas on how to make this go away?  Not all ideas have merit, and some are junk but if you are smart you listen to them all and pass them on the folks who can check, just like Trump did.  Heck even big pharma has ideas that are junk, and they peddle them too.

But yea, fake news...

In Context: What Donald Trump said about disinfectant, sun and coronavirus

https://www.politifact.com/article/2020/apr/24/context-what-donald-trump-said-about-disinfectant-/

And outright lies....

Pelosi: Trump Wants People to ‘Inject Lysol Into Their Lungs’

https://www.mediaite.com/politics/pelosi-trump-wants-people-to-inject-lysol-into-their-lungs/

So, you wanna try again?

Well it looks like Trump can't even win over a moron...what does that make Trump. Biden just needs to lay low and watch Trump self destruct. A few months from now Biden will emerge from his bunker to clean up the mess Trump left behind.

Funny, I don't seem to recall there was anything Biden has won or lost when it comes to Trump.  Just more Chez nonsense.

Now, I think we can all have a good laugh at this!

Cameras caught Dr. Deborah Birx reacting visibly as the president floated the use of light and disinfectant treatments on coronavirus patients.

FYI, I'd still take Trump over that dead man the Dems are running, BTW.  All you had to do was not go crazy and put someone up who was a sentient reasonable human being, but you couldn't do it.  That's on you libs.   ;)

Here's a reminder of the word 'ultracrepidarian';
One who consistently offers opinions and advice on subjects way beyond their understanding.

We all should be grateful that none of the participants in this thread fits that description.

Dr. Birx - the face of America.

Meanwhile, Southwest is offering some really great discounts on flights to Atlanta if you need to go get a haircut.

Yes, I did read it.  Carefully.

Perhaps you missed the part where I said "Of course you have" ?

Still doesn't answer my question, though.  Like I said: "for some reason" just doesn't cut it.

It simply avoids answering a question you'd rather not address.

Telling, really.

Peter, you where caught, just like me with the loose lose thing.  Own up to it.

You used those words in a smart ass way, to make a point and as if you did not read what I wrote.  You made no effort what so ever to try and understand what I was writing.

As for some reason, like I said, I dont need that reason.  90% of the media repeatably admit they are liberal and/or Democrats.  You cant have that much of an industry being liberal/democrat with out it being biased towards the left.  It's just impossible to not be.

Here's a story from about a year ago that shows how biased not just the media is, but academic journals as well.  This study was conducted by a liberal professor by the way.

From dog rape to white men in chains: We fooled the biased academic left with fake studies

I've been thinking about growing my hair out again.  No bald spot and no receding hairline; if you got it flaunt it!

In all seriousness, flights to Oz are looking pretty good too.  Round trip close to a grand, I may have to do another vaca there next year.

I'm not agreeing with you, Alan, but why exactly is that?

How did it happen that "the left owns the airwaves?  Was it some kind of unseen insurrection?

Let me explain this. It's really quite simple. In Alan-speak, Hannity is a centrist with suspiciously liberal inclinations, as is Rush Limbaugh. That puts both Bushes over by Lenin. Obama, the radical leftist Muslim? Forget about it.

I find this discussion about media bias totally surreal.

Why? Because the desire of Trump to sideline the media by airing a daily 2 hours press point connecting him directly to citizens has demonstrated with total clarity that everything the supposedly biased « left » press wrote about him were in fact polite and respectful understatements of how terrible a leader he is.

No more need to watch or read press reports or to fear editorializing. Just watch Trump ridicule himself with comforting consistency.

The answer to that provided by our 4 hard core supporters? « Don’t listen to what he says »... but if you don’t listen to the President or the press the only think you are listening to is yourself. Your own pre conceived ideas. Your own bias.

Which enables us to easily reach the only possible conclusion, the only bias we need to fear is yours.

Cheers,
Bernard

Heh.  Considering that it was me that "caught" you (your words), I guess I don't really have to own up to anything.

You made no effort what so ever to try and understand what I was writing.

That's because what you said made no sense whatsoever.  You just said "for some reason".  That's not a reason.  That's just gibberish.

Yah? So?  My question to you remains "Why?"

Why do 90% (your figure, not mine) of the media and academia tend liberal?

Precisely.

And, yes.  Surreal it is.

As was today's "press briefing".  Trump walked out in a huff, refusing to answer any questions.

In other words, for the press, a total "loose".  :)

Ask the 90% that answer "yes, they are" that question.

You are deflecting, plain and simple.  Like I said, 90% say they are, and I take them at their word that they are telling the truth.  Why is it up to me to find out why in order to use that stat?

It is not.

It looks like 20% of NYC had the virus.  Is that stat true if only we ask them how, and they give a good answer?  No, but that is how you are treating it with your stupid point.

Politico on mdeia bias.

The Media Bubble Is Worse Than You Think

As of 2013, only 7 percent of [journalists] identified as Republicans,” Silver wrote in March, chiding the press for its political homogeneity.

Do you ever actually pay attention or are you just blinded by Orange man bad virus?  Clearly Bernard is, and it appears you have a bad case too.

Trump had TWO other press encounters today and answered questions.

You wanna try again looser?

Like I said, 90% say they are, and I take them at their word that they are telling the truth.

Where do you get 90% from?

This survey says that 28% of US journalists identify as Democrat:
