So, the answer (also expressed more or less by Alan) is "for some reason".
Really? That's the answer?
If so, why is talk radio invariably right-biased? Is that also explained by "for some reason"?
The same accusation is also frequently aimed at educational institutions. Is academia also biased left "for some reason"?
Really Peter?
As polls have shown, repeatably, 90% of journalists identify as liberal and/or democrat. Why? I dont know, nor need to know to explain why the media leans left. It does by their own admission, just by the polling. You cant have a 90% concentration of a certain type of individual in an industry and not have that industry biased towards those beliefs.
By having so many left leaning people in the industry, the media unknowingly built a self-reassuring mechanism in their offices. Since very few are there with different views, it becomes impossible for them to have any challenge to their points of view, which only make them feel more right. Hence why you have the NYTs justifying why they went to town on Kavanaugh but have given almost no coverage to Tara Reid, who's story is more credibly then Blasey Ford's. It make no sense objectively, but from their biased point of view, it does.
And I did explain why talk radio is right based, but here we go again. If you're liberal, the media already satisfies your needs from their inherent bias. So there is no reason to go elsewhere to get your news, hence why liberal talk radio never really catches on. I sure there are plenty of lefties that would like to start their own shows, but can never create the following that Rush did. But if you're conservative, the media does not satisfy your needs, so you look for other outlets like talk radio and Fox News. Simple.
