Actually if you look at the US - minus New York and New Jersey, we have done an amazing job.    We can quibble over WHY New York is such a mess, but lets consider this, 25% of the Covid 19 deaths in New York come from nursing homes. New York had been requiring nursing homes to admit patients with Covid 19.  I guess that means OMB?

This will be the case in many places.
Here is a C19 death chart from the Canadian Long Term Centres.

That's an easy one to remember: "affect" is a verb, except when it's a noun; and "effect" is a noun, except when it's a verb.

It all makes sense now!

..

Prior to the orders going in place, Americans had already started social distancing on their own.  Data shows that restaurant revenue dropped pretty significantly prior to any lockdowns.  So the idea that if we open up we will all go back to normal is just not true.

Additionally, almost 28M Americans are now out of work due to what you are advocating, the vast majority of which are in the lower income.  You can not claim to care for the average American while at the same time bankrupt them.

We were told that this lockdown was solely being used to keep the healthcare system from being overrun and it did not come close to being over run in the  USA.  We were not told this would cure the virus or eradicate it.  So, there is no longer a reason to stay locked down according to the reason we were told to do so in the first place.  The goal posts are being moved after the fact.

People need to stop being political charlatans acting like the economy does not matter.  We all cant, as Cuomo put it yesterday is yet another tone deaf statement of his, go out and get a job as an essential worker.

If anyone wants to know why  I still prefer Trump in this mess, it's because of this.

Dem lawmakers eye 'opportunity' for historic expansion of government amid coronavirus crisis

During the last crisis, instead of dealing with crisis management only, Obama and the Dems reworked much of the system.  It screwed us for 8 years and it was not until Trump got into office and him removing the jungle of regulations that things started to open up again.  So, I'd take Trump over any  Dem, especially Biden, right now.

By what measure?

By what measure?

Economic growth was completely anemic.  Obama's economic record is horrible.

That's just not true.

It is.  He screwed over the banking system with Dodd Frank and put in many regulations, all of which made it harder to do business.  Not to mention, he was a pessimist in chief, he held back the economy by being too negative.  Another reason I like Trump, he is an optimist.  Although being an optimist does not necessarily mean you will win, being a pessimist guarantees you will lose.

I know this a complete waste of time, but according to Forbes: "Obama’s last three years had better growth than Trump’s three years "

Just offer your elders as sacrifice to appease the Covid-19 god. Everyone will do it eventually.

Yes, it is, because you are using flawed arguments.  Here is the real story,

No, Obama doesn't deserve credit for Trump's economy

Everyone has got the real story. It's the one that lines up with their biased views...all others are fake news.

About that BMW...

 :)

Lada 1980-2012. Amazing vehicle.
To complete the story, the car was born as Fiat 124 in Italy and manufactured there between 1966 and 1974.
And it doesn't end there. In Cuba, there are still a quarter of million Lada's which will continue to be driven for another 50 years.

Complete and utter nonsense on the part of the local democratic party against its state representative.

Good.  Every member of every party ought to be censuring everyone that publicly recommends medical treatments that are based on loose anecdote and incomplete science.   Glad to see that the Dems aren't "party above all else."

One of my good friend's parents bought a 535i in the late 80s. We were all pushing them to get the M5 instead :)
