His enemies probably poisoned him with the same stuff they used on our American they sent back here.  Screw them all.
Yes, that is the most likely scenario. Do you get this stuff off social media or do you make it up all by yourself?

The Chinese Communists use the virus as an opportunity to destroy freedom in Hong Kong. Arrest all democracy leaders.  Why anyone would trust their excuses and nonsense about the virus is beyond me.

Crisis and opportunity: Beijing pounces on Hong Kong’s opposition as covid-19 keeps protesters at bay

That was just question of time when China would do it. Right now, it's a perfect opportunity.

Maybe he had a stroke caused by stress with Trump.

That could do it!  Rack another one up to Trump.

How the first-world quarantidiots look like from the perspective of the third-world hungry:

I am not sure why there would be any stress. Trump said the other day he had gotten "a nice note" from Kim. But that could be one of those instances when you shouldn't take Trump's comments literally, as NK denies sending any note. Maybe the comment was aspirational, like maybe Trump wishes he had gotten a nice note from Kim.

So CNN news is great when it suits your views...but is fake news otherwise.

Slobo, you disappoint me. I thought for sure you'd be out with the rest of the Covidiots protesting your boredom. Instead you just continue to quack without any action.

Kim's note wished Trump well and mentioned that he was in perfect health and couldn't feel better.  ::)

Fake news is not about lies.  It's about twisting the truth in a biased way.  Spin.

All politicians spin, including Trump.  That's why you have to use discernment regardless of who's talking, on all sides, including so-called experts.  Think for yourself.

Yep, but Trump perfected it. Spin or total lies is all he knows, even when his country is battling major health and financial disasters.

With oil prices collapsing, what does that do to climate change, Paris? Cheaper oil will make renewables even more expensive by comparison.  With the economy failing, no one's going to invest in or buy a product that costs more.

So you are predicting the failure of Leica?

Nigerian citizen: I prefer to die from Covid-19 than hunger

In many third world countries a total quarantine is indeed a major challenge due to the lack of savings (many people don’t have a bank account for instance), they spend the little money they make the same week.

Macro economically the countries themselves don’t have the wealth to cover the needs of their citizens.

The situation should be very different in the US:
- there is tens of times the wealth at country level
- people and companies have all the tools to manage their financial safety net

What the current reactions to lock down and the hope that the country helps both reveal is simply that:
- many people should rethink their consumerism including the lack of savings. In short stop spending more than they can afford. Being locked down a few months with reduced or no income should be manageable for a large majority of adults managing their assets in a reasonable way and limiting the use of credit. There are obviously many exceptions and the country should help those.

- there is a real push in the US towards a more socially aware form of governance, more empathy towards people in need and a more balanced distribution of wealth. Alan was probably right when he wrote « Bernie won ». Trump being the populist that he is has sensed this and the economic package he is proposing is European in nature.

Cheers,
Bernard

That is how a commodity works.

Leica is not a commodity FYI, and if you think it operates under the same economic theory, well, you don't know much about economics.

How about the costs?  Are they only like twice the price as in other countries?  Or maybe they are 10s times, making it relative?

It was Alan's gross generalization that I was pointing out.
