Deflections aside, there's one thing you wrote that I don't think we should let go. You wrote "The Chinese spread the disease, deliberately." Even by the low bar standards of popular online discussions, that one is beyond what's acceptable imo. Is that some QAnon bullshit you heard? Are you channeling Alex Jones? Are you upset that they controlled the disease better than the US?

I don't think it's ok just to assert something like that just because you feel like it.

In Portugal we have a much better historical perspective about China, since we have dealings with them since 1514. Something the USA ambassador should consider before trying to teach us foreign policy.

While stopping all travel to other parts of China from the Wuhan area, they deliberately allowed Chinese to travel to Europe and the US and the rest of the world spreading the disease. My home town of NYC got the worst of it. They lied to the W.H.O. and the world about the seriousness and type of virus for around five weeks, a critical time period that could have been used to get a jump on it.

What about Spain, Italy, Iran, and all the other countries that suffered more because of China's deceitful ways?  China's lost all credibility with much of the world because of the virus.

In any case, Croatian and American relations are excellent both militarily and economically.    Croatia is a member of NATO.
