Is the blue sky really so rare there? We see the blue sky quite often, but the fields are still brown. Some even with patches of snow. And the lakes are still white.

So immaculate? At that location I would say yes. There is almost always something flying up there

Around here (western Switzerland), the sky is always full on contrails… Getting shots without those is a major challenge.

Of course, if the blue skies feel too unnatural, you could easily paint in some contrails.

I actually do that in certain works...To place a painting in time. The majority of my paintings of the landscape are timeless, but for my hand.
