Thanks for the article and the photos. It's great to be reminded that there are wonderful places out there. A good break from the limited world we all have at the moment. Eventually we'll be able to travel again. Perhaps we'll see things with new eyes after our forced isolation.

Nice to see an article about my country. But the real treasures are away from the touristic hot spots.

There were several mentions in the article of the Mediterranean.  But Portugal doesn't touch the Mediterranean.  It is on the Atlantic coast.  Or do people in Portugal refer to their coast as being on the Mediterranean??

Technically, no. But this is a very nuanced issue. At the same time there is identification with european-atlantic countries, there is some cultural identification with north-africa and the mediterranean. And by cultural here I mean some lifestyle, socio-cultural aspects. Sure if you go north, it's very different. But Portugal's heart is big, and it acommodates everyone.

Indeed Portugal does not lie in the Mediterranean, it is all Atlantic. I suppose one can describe the culture and diet in the country as somewhat mediterranean, as we do like grilled fish, salads, and olive oil. The climate in the south is also on the warmer side, compared to the North and Western coast.
