LR can't see new server on Windows10

I just installed a WD EX4100 home server for extra storage and had to reconfigure Windows 10 a bit to access it. I can get into the WD app and configure it now and even updated the firmware. File Explorer can't see it though and obviously, LR can't either. I'm not using it for catalog, just storage. Thanks.

Are you expecting it to show up as a drive letter? That won't happen automatically, at least it didn't for me. Look in the Network section of File Explorer and the device should be listed there. It will likely have a cryptic name, for example mine is TS-HTGL45. Expand that and you will likely see 2 or more folders. In my case one is named "info" and that's stuff the server uses to run--don't mess with it! The other is named "share" and that's where your data will go. Right-click and select Map Network Drive and follow the steps to assign a drive letter.

This is how my server works. Yours may be different, of course.

Make sure Windows has Network discovery activated and you might need to activate smb1.1: https://www.tachytelic.net/2019/09/windows-10-enable-smb1/

You are welcome. I went through the same thing just few days ago when I upgraded my computer and it wouldn't see my server.
