Contemplating life #2 - updated
« on: March 14, 2020, 08:23:16 pm »

Nothing like a well used stogie ( doesn't even have to be lit ) and a nice warm day to just stop and ponder what life's all about.

As per suggestion removed the bright spot.

Kept the framing as I don't just scotch tape my photos to my walls...I frame them, just like when displaying on the net.

Agreed. Could you darken that bright spot behind his neck, please?

If he does, he ruins separation.

I don't do critique, but if I did I'd agree with Jeremy and tone down the bright spot. I'd also say lose the God-awful frames. But what do I know, I don't do critique.

I wasn't suggesting removing it, Rob; just darkening it a little. At present, it's by far the brightest thing in the image, so it draws the eye. It's particularly noticeable in the thumbnail.

Wow. These remarks are supposed to encourage people to post their images? I don't know, but I rather enjoy the images.

So I guess it's now OK for me to say that the bright area in front of his face and next to his forehead is distracting? I don't think so. As Rob C noticed before, that would completely kill separation.

If it's OK now, it was OK before; but it's not OK if you don't think it is, no. What point are you trying to make?

Rob C's point about the separation and how removing the highlight areas kills the shot.
