I agree that for new costumers buying into Ai the payed upgrade comes to soon. more reasonable was to start counting from the moment of the statement-13 feb 2020.

That said I thought it very generous that Topaz gave me free upgrade from original suite of products to their very distinct AI counterparts (which had distinct input costs, no doubt).
I think there must be a middle ground.
Certainly, as others have pointed out, it is not reasonable to have a "year's upgrades" being fritted away with beta-testing level of software glitches. Topaz may actually find they have a delay for uptake and revenues as a consequence
