The effect on democracy of Mr T spreads: today, before a briefing in London, the New Conservatives decided to split the press into two units: those it would allow to remain, and those that had to leave. To give them credit, many of those "allowed" to remain walked out in disgust.
This is an unprecedented attack on the press. According to the NCs, this was not banning anybody, simply inviting some and not inviting others. What was that one about first casualties?
And they lied to the Brits that Brexit was about freedom? It clearly was, though, about taking back control: yeah, back from the man in the street the moment he'd served his purpose and provided the electoral numbers to put the NCs in power. I was going to write back in power, but that would be inaccurate: this is a new political party never before seen in power in this land.
Boy, is truth ever going to be a victim, and the state view always the only one allowed to be read, seen or heard. And to think I believed that was something only ever likely to happen under communism or fascism!
