Quick tip uploading a web gallery to your own site
« on: January 28, 2020, 09:57:33 am »

Hi All,

Just wanted to pass this on if it helps anyone when moving to, or running alongside Lightroom.  One thing I do all the time is upload my initial edits to a client area on my site and then forward a link to my client inviting them to have a look.  In Lightroom this was/is an easy and slick operation.  Not quite so straightforward in C1.

C1 does make a very simple and stylisg web gallery (File>Export web contact sheet)  there are a few simple options and it will put this folder anywhere you want within your own system.  LR would put it on your site directly if you had taken the time to set up the FTP link.

So now in C1 you have a folder with thumbs and websize images etc but you don't really want to zip that up and send to your client so what I do is rename that folder to whatever I want and then via a free FTP program like FileZilla just drag it over to  wherever I want it on my site and bingo, I can send a professional looking link to my client with the edits all set out in a neat C1 web gallery.

Its not as slick as LR but it wasn't tedious and it was done quickly.

There is probably an even quicker way now within C1 -12 or 20 and if thats the case do let me know...!!!!

Thanks for pointing that out!  What I'd probably do is export to a folder synched with my OneDrive and then send the client a link to the folder  (I'm currently using Pixieset to share proofs with client, whicn look snice but is a bit fiddly)
