An odd problem
« on: January 15, 2020, 11:34:26 am »

I use the LR subscription and the classic version of the program on Windows. For unknown reasons the program's title bar has vanished. This is the bar at the very top of the program window that has the maximize, minimize, and close icons at the right end. Also the bar you use to move the window with your mouse. I cannot figure this out. I updated to the latest version, no soap. Any ideas?

Peter,

There is a small gray pyramid in the middle of the top of the Lr app.  Click that to hide or restore the title bar.

I suspect it's the full screen mode rather than a panel. Just press Shift F a couple of times and you'll see the program cycles through a couple of views with and without the menu and buttons.

Hmmm … the triangle does not do it, and shift+f does nothing. What works is Windows Key + down arrow.

It may be the way your PC is set up as using those keys (or the Windows and up arrow key) does not hide/recover the title bar on mine ... I have seen the same bar vanish on Macs when I've been helping people but I can't recall how it was recovered

Maybe the LR windows was moved out of the visible desktop, an issue that happens seldom in Windows (with any application). Windows+arrow cycles between maximized - restored - minized.
Another way to solve this is to temporarily change the screen resolution, so any application that was out of the visible desktop is resized inside the desktop.

One instance where this happens is when you switch from external monitors with different resolutions / scaling

On mine that hides the LR bar with the Library/Develop/Map etc tabs but not the one the OP asked about
